Monitoring ESS

Most ESS operations parameters can be monitored with:

cat /proc/mft/fbd1/status

The display varies depending on which mode ESS is running in:

Linear
Compressed
Compressed and De-duplicated

ESS v4.1 has scripted in the /usr/local/fbd/sh directory that monitor SSD SMART wear. Daily log files are built so that trends can be analized. These daily files are also uploaded to an EasyCo server.

The uploaded information only contains SMART information and ESS status information. No system data is uploaded. If you want to keep this information from uploading, edit the file:

/usr/local/fbd/sh/ess.conf
